President Trump on Friday said he will raise U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25 percent to 50 percent.

Trump announced the hike on steel tariffs at a rally at a U.S. Steel Corporation facility in western Pennsylvania.

He’d traveled to the facility to tout a nearly completed agreement (/node/183329) on the company’s controversial acquisition by Nippon Steel.
