Antonio Ortiz-Mena, PhD
President and CEO
Antonio Ortiz-Mena, PhD is a senior executive and strategic advisor with more than three decades of experience helping companies succeed in high-stakes geopolitical, trade, and investment matters across North America and key global markets.
A former member of Mexico’s NAFTA negotiation team, he later served as Mexico’s Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States, where he advised corporate leaders on trade disputes, major investment projects, supply-chain disruptions, and regulatory issues involving decision-makers on both sides of the border.
Before founding AOM Advisors, Dr. Ortiz-Mena held senior leadership roles at Albright Stonebridge Group and Dentons Global Advisors, where he advised multinational companies operating in highly regulated and politically sensitive sectors. Now, as President & CEO of AOM Advisors, he works directly with C-suite executives to anticipate and mitigate geopolitical and regulatory risks, resolve high-stakes trade and investment issues, and secure critical business objectives, providing clear analysis, informed judgment, and actionable solutions to a select number of clients.
He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he teaches international trade and investment negotiations. His research has been published by Cambridge University Press, Stanford University Press, Brookings Institution Press, and the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He holds a PhD from the University of California, San Diego (Fulbright Scholar) and an MA from University College London. His technical, diplomatic, business, and academic experience allow him to identify the core of a problem and design practical, results-oriented solutions.
Widely recognized for his analysis of North American political and economic trends, he has delivered more than 140 presentations and given over 400 interviews with leading global media outlets. He is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a member of The Trilateral Commission, and chairs the USMCA Committee of Mexico’s Foreign Trade Council (COMCE).

Rocío A. Rivera-Barradas, PhD
Senior Advisor
Rocío A. Rivera-Barradas, PhD is a senior advisor with expertise in North American economic integration and the U.S.–Mexico bilateral relationship, with a focus on trade, investment, security, and regulatory issues.
Before joining AOM Advisors, she served as Consul for Economic Affairs at the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago (2019–2024), where she advised U.S. companies evaluating investment and relocation opportunities in Mexico, and assisted Mexican companies expanding into Illinois. She provided guidance to more than 55 companies across manufacturing, agri-foods, and services, and supported over 60 Mexican SMEs in developing trade and investment links in the Chicago area.
Earlier, she served as Advisor for North America in the Office of the Chief of Staff at Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she worked on bilateral strategic priorities and cross-border regulatory cooperation. At the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, she supported Mexico’s participation in international economic and financial forums and contributed to policy analysis on anti-money laundering (AML) matters.
In academia, she taught International Security at CIDE (2017–2019) and has published research on bilateral issues including security, water resources, and trade. She holds a PhD and MA in International Relations from the University of Miami, and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from CIDE in Mexico City.
Rocío brings disciplined execution, deep institutional knowledge, and strong analytical skills to AOM Advisors’ work. Her experience across government, policy, and trade promotion allows her to deliver reliable, fact-based support to executives managing complex North American issues.
